Class 99 (i) The wall of a flexible hose 14 is engaged and compressed between means, such as a collar 24, disposed adjacent an opening 22 in a socket 18 and means, such as a tubular eyelet 16, having means, e.g. a flange 32 with radial arms 34, or a serrated or burred edge, for biting into the inner surface of the socket. Initially the flange may be curved and then flattened by a tool to force the edge of the flange into engagement with the socket, the end of the hose being formed with a flare 42.
