664,716. Flanging. MILLINGTON, J., and IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. June 13, 1950 [June 13, 1949], No. 15670/49. Class 83 (iv). A drift for flaring tubes comprises a body portion 12 with a tapered die part and a pilot extension carrying a corrugated rubber or other resilient covering 6. The tube is held in. a flared split clamp 9 and the drift is operated by blows on a part 3. The resilient pilot extension closely fits the tube to centre the die portion and prevents damage by non-axial blows. The pilot extension may be detachable and may be formed of rubber &c. rings spaced by metal &c. washers.
