691,372. Locking nuts. NEAT, G. A. March 8, 1951 [April 13 1950], No. 9084/50. Class 89 (i) [Also in Group XXVIII] A coupling nut for a pipe joint has at one end an internal flange 5 closely fitting the pipe 1, the internal side face of the flange being inclined so as to present an acute-angled edge 6 to the end face of a socket 2, whereby the flange is deformed to grip the pipe. The flange tapers to a minimum thickness at its inner periphery.
