Abstract

678,532. Studs for footwear. LEWIS, E. O., and EYRE, F. W. S. Jan. 29, 1951 [April 20, 1950], No. 9763/50. Class 17 (iii). [Also in Group XXV] The screwed shank of a removable stud 6, Fig. 4, for sports footwear is engaged with the internally screw threaded bore of an eyeletlike member 1, the outer portion of which is milled as at Fig. 5 to be forcibly pressfitted to the correspondingly formed surface 3, Fig. 3, of a washer-like member. Wings 4 formed on the washer engage the sole and prevent relative rotation of washer, eyelet and sole when the stud 6 is engaged. The eyelet-like member 1 may be of " Duralumin " (Registered Trade Mark) or other non-ferrous metal or alloy, or of mild steel or plastic material and the washer may be of square, hexagonal, or other shape.
