Abstract

470,312. Attaching heels to boots &c. BLACK, N. S. Nov. 2, 1936, No. 29712. [Class 17 (ii)] Means for detachably securing heels to footwear comprise an apertured anchor plate 7 for fitting the heel seat, a screw-headed anchoring pin or stud 8 and means for removably securing it to the heel so as to project therefrom, and a screw cap or nut 9. The aperture is formed in a countersunk portion 10 of the thin metal anchor plate 7 which is turned over at its edges, and is provided with holes so that it may be tacked to the heel seat. The countersunk portion of the plate 7 accommodates the nut 9, the head of which does not project above the plate. The screw-threaded stud 14 is formed integrally with or is secured to a shoulder or enlarged head 13 on a screw-threaded shank 11. The shank 11, which is screwed into the heel 12, may be formed as a tapered wood screw.
