Abstract

1,082,517. Boots &c. COKER & SONS. June 9, 1964 [June 10, 1963], No. 669/67. Divided out of 1,082,516. Heading A3B. A stud 39 having a mushroom shaped flange 38 and a shank (40) is secured to an anchor plate (31) which is secured to the sole or heel 34 by turning over the end of a hollow stem 32 against a washer 35. The anchor plate (31) has a countersunk portion 41 with inwardly inclined walls 37 which engage the flange 38 to retain the stud 39. Alternatively the flange 38 may be retained by tags (not shown) on the wall 37 which are turned over on to the flange 38. The shank (40) of the stud and the bore of the hollow stem 32 may be threaded so that the flange 38 will lock within the countersunk portion of the plate when the shank is screwed home.
