Abstract

1357033 Boots &c G PAIS 17 Aug 1971 [30 Sept 1970] 38516/71 Heading A3B A heel 4 is detachably secured to a shoe by means of a plate 10 which forms the shank stiffener and which has, at its heel end, a downwardly displaced flange 14, the flange 14 sliding into a groove formed in a rim 7 on the heel 4, and resilient locking means in the form of a hook 18 on the plate 10 which co-operates with a recess 19 in the upper face of the heel 4. The heel end of the plate 10 may be separated from the intermediate sole 3' by a small spacing plate 16. The flange 14 is formed by bending and downwardly displacing the edges of the plate 10 at its heel end, and the locking means is formed by cutting a strip 17 from the plate 10 and bending a hook 18 at its free end. The plate 10 is secured to the intermediate sole 3' at points 11 and 12 e.g. by rivets.
