Abstract

504,564. Detachable heels for boots and shoes. MARCELLO, M., and CACHES, C. A. Oct. 26, 1937, No. 29200. [Class 17 (ii)] The projecting heads 5, Fig. 2, of stud members 4 secured in the seat of a heel 8 are engaged in slots 3a, 3b, Fig. 3, in a metal plate 1 secured to the rear end of the insole or a foundation member of a boot or shoe, the plate, if desired, extending forwardly along the shank, and being smaller than the shoe part to which it is attached to fit within the edges of the overlasted upper. Lugs 2 extend upwards from the plate to form a space between it and the insole &c. in which the stud heads are accommodated. Locking means comprising a spring tongue 11 with upturned end 10 which engages a slot 9 in the plate when the heel is moved into retaining position, are provided.
