Abstract

412,872. Sandals. JOLLES SANDALS, Ltd., and BOSTOCK, R., George Street, Stafford. Jan. 18, 1934, No. 1862. [Class 17 (ii).] A sandal for wear over a bare or stockinged foot has an upper portion 8 of elastic material at the forepart of the sole 6 embracing the outside and inside joints of the foot to assist in securing it in position. The upper portion 8 may consist of one or more straps of elastic webbing which may cross one another, as shown, and which are secured, for example by adhesive, between inner and outer soles 6, 7. Fastening means for attachment to the heel or instep of the foot are provided at the heel. These may comprise a forwardly projecting loop 9 of elastic webbing, or a rearwardly projecting loop of elastic material which may be integral with the portion at the forepart. Alternatively, the heel attaching means may comprise laterally disposed loops at the sides at the heel and also, if desired, at the rear of the heel portion which may be engaged by a securing lace or strap.
