Abstract

1,151,306. Studs for footwear. A. DASSLER. 10 July, 1967 [18 Oct., 1966], No. 31600/67. Heading A3B. A stud for a sports boot or shoe comprises a body 1 made from plastics material or hard rubber and an insert 2 of material, such as metal, which is more resistant to wear than the body and which is formed solely by a retaining element adapted to be screwed to the sole of a sports boot or shoe, the retaining element having a widened-out end 5 the external face of which is smooth and substantially flush with the tread face of the body, and forms the major part of the tread face of the stud. The insert is a press fit in the body and has a ribbed portion 6 to prevent rotation of the insert in the body. A pressure-distributing shoulder 3 has recesses 7 to receive a screwing implement.
