Abstract

1,193,282. Boots &c. W. BOTTERILL & SON Ltd. 2 Aug., 1967 [5 Aug., 1966], No. 35435/67. Heading A3B. A football boot has broken or complete annular ridges 1, 2 formed on its heel and sole, the annular ridges 1, 2 having an outside diameter of approximately the width of the sole. The base surface of the ridges are formed with undulations 3. The boot may also be provided with tapered strips 4 attached to either side of the gap 5 for the introduction of the foot so that the boot has a substantially flat instep portion. The strip 4 may be secured to the vamp by stitching, gluing or riveting and may be covered by leather 6.
