Abstract

347,436. Boots &c. JORDAN, A. F., 52, Elmgrove Road, Fishponds, Bristol. March 31, 1930, No. 10115. [Class 17 (iii).] Countersunk tips.- A top lift for boots &c. comprises a piece of leather cut away diagonally, as shown in Fig. 1, to its full thick less and bevelled at its edge, as shown in Fig. 2. This edge is provided with a groove 6 into which is fitted a lip or flange 7 on a quarter tip 8 of rubber or other material. The piece 3 and tip 8 are secured together by rivets 10 or adhesive solution before attachment to the heel. The construction gives a concave set to the tip 8 and the undersurface of the leather piece 3 may be skived to give a secure fit on the heel.
