Abstract

339,460. Lomakin, C. Aug. 15, 1930. Protectors, construction of and securing; countersunk tips.-Heel pads 1 of leather, rubber, or other material, or combinations of these materials are detachably secured by bifurcated rivets 2 secured by screwing to the pad and engaging in metal sockets 4 screwed into the heel 3. A metal plate may be secured to the upper face of the pad 1, if desired. The pad may be in a single piece, or formed, as shown, in two parts 1, 5 which between them cover the heel. The part 5 may be of metal. The pads may be provided with hob-nails or like devices, and, in frosty weather, pads having facings with gripping nails may be worn on the heel.
