Abstract
348,683. Boot &c. protectors. BRISCOE, A., 130, Eighth Avenue, Bezuidenhout Valley, Johannesburg, South Africa. Feb. 13, 1930, Nos. 4841 and 6447. [Class 17 (iii).] A renewable wearing pad or heel lift 3, Fig. 8, for a boot &c. is formed with a groove 25 of complementary shape to a projecting plate or piece 22, preferably of metal with straight, rearwardly-converging undercut, dovetail, or rebated edges fixed to the underside of the heel 2, Fig. 9, of the shoe, whereby it may be attached by a forward sliding movement. Means, such as a screw engaging registering holes 13 in the pad 3 and heel 2, a spring-pressed bolt in the heel 2 engaging a recess in the pad 3, or an L-shaped nail fitting in a recess in the pad 3, are provided to lock the parts together. The plate 22 may be in two pieces with a dovetail groove between the two parts, if desired. Specification 9282/11, [Class 17 (iii), Boots and shoes, Protectors &c. for], is referred to.
