339,919. Bird, T. N., and Bird & Sons, Ltd., T. April 28, 1930. Fastenings.-An elastic webbing or like resilient means 10 is connected at both ends 10<a> to a shoe upper and is secured at its mid-portion to a strap 5 which carries a fastening means 4 for engaging the bar or strap 2 of the shoe. Similar resilient means may be provided on the other end of the bar 2, or both ends of the bar 2 may be resiliently secured to the shoe in this manner. The strap 5 and webbing 10 may be inside or outside the upper.
