Abstract
357,983. Horseshoes. DURHAM, J. R., Tees View, Piercebridge, Co. Durham. June 30, 1930, No. 19857. [Class 67.] The metal shoe a is provided with a longitudinal groove, as in Figs. 3, 4, or key, as in Fig. 5, to engage a correspondingly shaped tread c of rubber, leather, fibre or other material, the underface of the latter having longitudinal grooves h, as shown, or transverse grooves with intermediate flat surfaces. The tread c may be formed in two or more pieces, and the groove or key in the shoe need not be continuous from heel to heel. Metallic toe and heel pieces e, f may be secured by means of the groove or key with split-pins g if required.
