Abstract
401,198. Boots &c. SCHNEIDER, E., 16, Rosenheimerstrasse, Bad Kreuznach, Germany. May 2, 1933, No. 12737. Convention date, Sept. 17, 1932. [Class 17 (ii).] A boot or shoe is provided with a moulded sole, the turned-up rim 2 of which is reduced in thickness at its upper edge to form a recess terminating in a shoulder 3a, and the lower edge of the upper is fitted into this recess and secured to the sole rim. The joint between the upper and sole rim may be covered by a strip or strips of leather or other material, which may be ornamented, if desired. In a modification, as shown in Fig. 3A, the upturned rim of the sole is recessed as before, and a strip 11 of leather or other suitable material is first attached to the upper and then fitted into the recess and secured to the sole rim. The height of the sole rim may be increased from the waist towards the heel to form the counter, the use of a separate piece of leather for the counter thereby being avoided.
