818,924. Insoles. MIDGLEY, N. H., and DOWNEY, E. J. June 5, 1956 [June 10, 1955], No. 14966/58. Divided out of 818,923. Class 17(2) A sheet for forming insoles having a flexible forepart comprises a sheet 16 of rigid material to which strips of thinner flexible material 15, having bevelled edges, are attached. Insole blanks cut from thin sheet are passed through a skiving machine which reduces the thickness of the rigid sheet 16 over the toe area, removes it completely over nearly the whole of the area of the strip 15 and leaves its full thickness over the heel area and the central part of the waist which is reduced in thickness towards the strip 15 and towards the side edges. A sewing or an edging rib may be provided as described in Specification 818,923.
