Abstract

462,345. Boots and shoes. FISHER, L. A., and ART FOOTWEAR, Ltd. Oct. 18, 1935, No. 28862. [Class 17 (ii)] The flexible securing straps of a shoe or sandal are secured in position by forming or shaping the material of the straps to provide interlocking engagement with one another or with a separate connecting member of flexible material similar to that of the straps. As shown, applied to a lady's shoe, the upper is formed from a blank 1, Fig. 1, of rubber or other suitable flexible material, such as leather, with securing straps 2, 7, 9, 10, 12, 13 adapted to be secured around the foot by engagement with a connecting member 3, Fig. 5, formed with headed tongues adapted to be engaged in apertures 5 in the straps. Specifications 315,634, [Class 17 (ii)], and 428,127 are referred to.
