706,024. Studs for footwear. FUSSELL, E. G., CHAMPION C. B., WILLIAMS, C. R., and HILL, A. T. Feb. 14, 1952 [Nov. 17, 1950], No. 28203/50. Class 17(3) Studs for sportswear comprise a stepped projecting stud portion 10 of rubber and a surrounding base flange 11, the crosssection adjacent the base being greater than that at the tip of the stud. The portion 10 may be slightly tapered over the whole or part of its length and fillets may be provided at the angles of the steps and at the junction of the porticn 10 with the base 11. Canvas reinforcement 22 may be embedded in the stud and applied to the base of the flange.
