587,468. Heel tips. MITCHELL, H. Nov. 30, 1945, No. 32434. [Class 17 (iii)] A heel tip of metal or reinforced plastic material, shown in cross-section, has a recess a on its underface into which holes for attaching nails &c. break, so that material which may be forced up from the heel by a fastening passed through the tip into the heel will not affect the even seating of the tip. The rim on the underside may be bevelled as at b. The tab d which projects under the top lift of the heel has a slot e through which a fastening may be passed to assist in positioning the tip correctly.
