Abstract
An alloy comprises 5-12 per cent of aluminium, 1-4 per cent of titanium, 5-10 per cent of nickel, 0.1-7 per cent of iron and the balance copper. After forging, the alloy may be soaked at 900-1000 DEG C. for 12-.5 hours, cooled and aged at 400-600 DEG C for 32-1 hours, or forging may be effected partly before and partly after solution treatment. Internal combustion turbine compressor blades may be formed of the alloy. Residual traces of manganese or zinc, used as deoxidizers, may be present in the alloy. The Provisional Specification describes also alloys in which the aluminium content may vary from 1-12 per cent, the titanium content from 0.1-4 per cent and the iron from 0-7 per cent.
