Abstract

Magnesium base alloys containing 88,5-91,5 per cent of magnesium, 4,5-5,5 of tin, 3,5-4,5 of zinc and 0,5-1,5 of cadmium are heated to 425-435 DEG C. for 14-20 hours, cooled and then heated to 150-160 DEG C. for 14-20 hours. In an example an alloy containing 5 per cent of tin, 4 of zinc, 1 of cadmium and the rest magnesium was heated at 435 DEG C. for 16 hours cooled and heated at 150 DEG C. for 16 hours.
