Abstract
A titanium-base alloy has the following percentage composition: Al 2.5 - 7.5 Zr 2 - 7 Mo 0.1 - 6 Si 0.1 - 1 Cu 0.5 - 6 Ti the remainder The alloy may also contain Sn 0.1 - 8 and/or C 0.05 - 0.4. It may be solution treated at 910 DEG C., oil quenched and aged at 500 DEG C. for 24 hours. Alternatively it may be solution heated at 920 DEG C., slow cooled and aged at 500 DEG C. for 24 hours. The use of this alloy for steam turbine blades and alternator end bells is referred to.
