Abstract

An alloy consists of: Cu 0.5-1.5%, Cr or Mo 0.25-1.5%, Zr remainder except for impurities. Al is restricted to 0.015% and Ti to 0.1%. The alloy is intended for use in contact with CO2 at elevated temperature and it may be heat treated for 2-4 hours between 850 DEG C. and 950 DEG C. followed by quenching and elevating for up to 20 hours at less than 850 DEG C.
