Abstract
An alloy containing in percentage by weight <TABS:1036179/C6-C7/1> is solution treated at 900-1200 DEG C., treated at 550 DEG -700 DEG C. to precipitate the gamma1 or gamma11 phase, and finally aged at a higher temperature such as 750 DEG -850 DEG C. Higher hardness and strength may be obtained by a two stage ageing such as 2-5 hours at 750 DEG C. followed by 4-40 hours at 680 DEG -720 DEG C. Use of the alloy for gas turbine rotor discs is referred to.
