Abstract

1,248,492. Heat-treating nickel alloys. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Feb. 12, 1969 [May 31, 1968], No. 7690/69. Heading C7A. An alloy containing in percentage by weight:- Co 14-20 Cr 13-17 Al 3À75-5 Ti 2À75-4 Mo 3À9-6 B 0À01-0À05 Zr 0-0À04 C 0À03-0À15 Ni balance is heated at 2100‹F. to 2200‹F. for 2 to 8 hours and rapidly cooled, e.g. in air or by a blast of gas; it is then heated at 1975‹F. for 2 to 8 hours, and fast cooled, heated at 1700‹F. for 12 to 48 hours and fast cooled, and finally heated at 1400‹F. for 8 to 25 hours followed by fast cooling. The treated alloy is particularly suitable for turbine blades.
