Abstract
<PICT:1031338/C6-C7/1> Strip, sheet etc. up to 20 mils in thickness and made of a nickel-base alloy containing 0.04-0.15% C., 5-25% Cr. and 1-10% Al and/or Ti is solution treated by retaining it at a temperature between 1975 DEG F. and 2200 DEG F. for a time such that the temperature/time plot falls within the area ABDC; moreover, the strip is heated to the treatment temperature at such a rate that the plot of temperature versus the time for heating from 1975 DEG F. to the treatment temperature plus the retention time falls within the area A1B1DC. The strip is then quenched, worked and aged, e.g. at 1400 DEG F.
