Abstract

Pistons &c. with a close grained head and an integral wrought skirt are made of aluminium or magnesium base alloys with specific proportions of the following: (1) Aluminium with (a) copper, iron, silicon and magnesium, with or without titanium and nickel; (b) copper and magnesium with silicon or nickel, or zinc and manganese; (c) magnesium and silicon. (2) Magnesium with aluminium and manganese. Specification 415,422, [Group XXII], is referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 248,720, [Class 83 (iv)].
