Abstract

668,193. Crop sprayers. PEARCH, L. C. July 11, 1950 [July 11, 1949], No. 18241/49. Class. 69 (iii). A trailer 11 supports a centrifugal fan 14 having a casing 16 with an outlet 17 which can be revolved around the fan axis, a liquid tank 46, and a pump 33 with means for feeding liquid to nozzles 24 on a pipe 23 arranged in the air stream. The fan outlet 17 is fish-tail shaped with radial partitions 22, and it may be locked in the desired position by a screw 18 in a fixed plate 19 co-operating with holes 20 in the casing. An internal combustion engine 36 drives the fan which, by a belt 34, drives the pump, and liquid is forced through pipes 49, 32 via a three-way valve 30 to pipes 29, 28 and 23. A branch pipe 53 may return liquid to the tank. The powder-blowing apparatus of Specification 350,936, [Group I], may be converted into a liquid sprayer as desired, by placing the liquid tank within the powder hopper.
