Abstract
751,609. Spray-producers. MAUSER, A. Jan. 15, 1954, No. 1204/54. Class 69 (3). Concave rotary discs 6, 7, Fig. 1, are carried by a hollow rotary shaft 4 through which spray liquid is fed to openings 5 from a hose connection 3. The liquid is thrown from a peripheral slot 9 and into the air stream produced by an axial flow fan 10 within a cylindrical casing 1. One or more such devices may be carried on a wheeled vehicle which supports a spray liquid tank and used for spraying plants. Each device is driven from the ground wheels of the vehicle through gearing and a flexible shaft 11 which drives gears 12, 13. The quantity of liquid sprayed is regulated by displacing apertures 19 relative to the openings 5. In Fig. 2 the outer casing 20 is conical and liquid is supplied at 22 and is picked up by a branch pipe 25 and fed to an outlet 26 controlled by a valve 31. Devices of the above kind are described in which the fan is supported on a shaft coaxial with the disc drive shaft and is driven independently in the same direction as, or in an opposite direction to, the discs.
