A trailer 10 carries a spray liquid tank 11 and a centrifugal fan 14 within a casing 18 provided with two tangentially-directed outlet assemblies 19, 20 containing spray nozzles whereby spray can be directed to opposite sides of the trailer. The casing is rotatable about the longitudinal axis of the fan on bearings 31, 32 so that the spray can be directed as desired. Each outlet assembly has four outlets, each provided with four liquid nozzles interconnected by an annulus mounted in the outlet wall, and the four annuli of each assembly are fed by flexible pipes 23- 26, the pipes being of different lengths and/or diameters to compensate for the differences in the static heads at the nozzles in the four outlets. A drive-shaft 12, for connection to the power take-off of a tractor, drives the fan shaft 16 via a belt 17, and a pump 42 driven from the shaft 16 draws liquid from the tank and delivers it through a pipe 44 to a manifold 45 having distribution boxes 46, 47 supplying the outlet assemblies 19 and 20, respectively. A rotary agitator 33 within the tank is also driven from the shaft 16. The assembly 20 may be removed and replaced by an extension duct 29, the assembly being refitted in the open end of this duct so that both assemblies will discharge in approximately the same direction. A flow meter may be provided comprising pipes 49, 50 tapped off the feed-pipe 44 on opposite sides of an orifice 48 and fed to traps 51, 52 from which pipes 53, 54 lead to opposite sides of a diaphragm 56 in a chamber 55. The upper part of the chamber and a glass tube 57 contain mercury, the height of which in the glass tube provides a measure of the flow rate.
