Abstract
804,615. Crop sprayers. JENSEN, C. O. Aug. 22, 1956 [Nov. 30, 1955], No. 25598/56. Class 69 (3). A machine which may be drawn by a tractor includes a tank 21 containing a mixture of chopped stable manure and manure sludge which is distributed by means of a pump comprising a centrifugal impeller 6 within a cylindrical housing 4. The impeller is mounted on a shaft 12 driven from the tractor power take-off shaft, and a pipe 20 extends from the tank to the pump whereby the mixture is delivered to nozzles spaced around the pump housing periphery. Each nozzle feeds a distribution tube 28, and the mixture is fed to a coulter at the end of each tube. A valve member 5 with perforations 25 is rotatably adjustable about the shaft 12 by a handle 2, so that flow from the pump housing to all the nozzles may be adjusted or cut-off.
