Abstract
677,654. Crop sprayers. ALLMAN, E. W. J., and ALLMAN PATENTS, Ltd. March 2,1951 [March 7,1950], No. 5784/50. Class 69 (iii). Two spraying tubes 50 are pivotally connected at 52 to channelled section cradles 51 hinged at 57 to a carrier 54 which is adjustable vertically on a standard 55, the standard being clamped to a liquid tank by bands 65, 66. The carrier 54 is bolted to the standard in the required position, and the apparatus is carried by a tractor provided with lifting links which engage studs 78, 79. On meeting an obstruction the tubes 50 swing rearwardly about the pivots 57. A pump draws liquid through a tube reaching downwardly into the tank and delivers it through a control valve to the spray tubes. A bye-pass is provided to return liquid to the tank via a further tube concentric with the pump suction tube and having perforations in its wall so that the tank liquid is agitated.
