Abstract

678,477. Humidifying air. LIPTON, B. March 20, 1951 [June 5, 1950], No. 13969/50. Class 55 (ii). Water supplied by a ball valve 14 to a container 10 is drawn up into a hollow conical impeller 31, ejected in atomized form from arms 32 through a wire screen 33, and dispersed into air which is drawn by a fan 27 into the container. The water laden air is delivered from the container through nozzles 35, which are inclined at an angle of between 10 and 40 degrees to the horizontal, have drip-preventing lips 37, and are braced by webs 38. The impeller 31 and the fan 27 are driven by a motor 25 supported on a shroud 24. The container is provided with a drain pipe 21 and an inspection window (not shown).
