349,429. V e nt i lab i n g-apparatus. HALL & KAY, Ltd., KAY, P., and HALL, S., Stockport Road, Ashton-under-Lyne. Nov. 23, 1929, No. 35887. [Class 137.] Apparatus for controlling atmospheric conditions in rooms and other enclosures comprises a casing 4, a fan 7 by which air is drawn from the room through the casing and returned to the room, a deflector 10 for directing the returned air in a desired path and a plurality of water sprayers adapted to discharge into the path of the returned air. The cylindrical casing 4 containing the fan 7 is suspended in spaced relation from an upper casing 9 the bottom of which is of inverted conical form. Air drawn into the casing 4 by the fan is discharged from the opening between the two casings and deflected downwardly by the conical deflector 10 adjustably mounted on the casing 9. Air may be admitted to the upper casing from the outside atmosphere or from a conditioning apparatus by way of a duct 13 and discharged from outlets 14 in the casing surmounted by an adjustable conical deflector 15. Nozzles 11 carried by a frame 12 mounted on the casing 4 direct a spray of water into the path of the discharged air. The supply of air and water to the sprayers may be controlled by a thermostat or humidostat.
