Abstract

1319293 Ceiling ventilators W ZUMTOBEL [trading as ZUMTOBEL KG] 23 July 1970 [25 July 1969] 35691/70 Heading F4V A room lighting and ventilating unit for mounting in a ceiling comprises an inverted trough 5 which accommodates light sources 1 and has at least one side wall which forms a wall of a plenum chamber 6 and together with another wall 8 of the chamber 6 defines an air outlet slot 10, a lower edge 9 of the side wall forming an air deflector. The or each plenum chamber is connected to an air conditioning unit. A further plenum chamber 16 may commu nicate through apertures 21 in the trough 5 with the room to extract air therefrom. A stepped member 11 having apertures 19 defines a duct 13 above the slot 10 and a pivoted flap 14 together with the deflector 9 ensures that air emerges from the slot parallel to the ceiling. The unit is made of sheet metal or plastics.
