Abstract

1,083,843. Ventilators. FAIRITT ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. April 10, 1964 [May 1, 1963], No. 17069/63. Heading F4V. Ventilating air is passed along the ceiling of a room or directly down into the room according to the positioning of a pivoted vane member 21 which engages either a seating member 25 or the lower wall of a distributing chamber 10 on the side of an outlet slot or row of apertures 20 remote from the seating member. Air passes to the distributing chamber 10 from a duct 16 through apertures in a wall 17 controlled by a hit-and-miss damper 18. A chamber 14 connecting the duct 16 and chamber 10 is elongated and tapers in opposite directions from a maximum height intermediate the ends of a chamber 10. A series of baffles 29 is provided on the top wall 17 of the chamber 10. The ventilator may be associated with a light fitting.
