Abstract

1468754 Air conditioning apparatus LTG LUFTTECHNISCHE GmbH 17 May 1974 [2 June 1973] 22251/74 Heading F4V An air conditioning apparatus comprises a housing 17, a heat exchanger 26, means for drawing room air in through an inlet 12 and an outlet 13, the inlet and outlet being elongated slots aligned with each other as shown in Fig. 5. The apparatus, or a number of such apparatuses, may be mounted above a false ceiling 11, the slots 12 and 13 being formed in the bearer struts for the false ceiling panels. In the form of Fig. 2 room air is induced to flow through the inlet 12 and the heat exchanger by being entrained in jets of primary air from nozzles 20 supplied through air box 19 from a primary air feed duct. A flap 30 is provided to cause the ingoing room air to pass through the heat exchanger to be heated or cooled or to go through a by-pass. Baffles may be provided to deflect the air from outlet 13 across the ceiling and, if desired, also to obscure the inlet 12. The baffles may be adjustable in position so that some or all of the air may flow vertically downwards from the outlet. In another form (Fig. 7, not shown) the primary air jets are replaced by a fan. In all forms the heat exchanger may be protected by a filter.
