519,272. Moistening air ; ventilating shafts. CORNELL, E. S. Oct. 12, 1938, No. 29550. Convention date, Oct. 28, 1937. [Class 55 (ii)] [Also in Group X] A fan 16 enclosed in a,casing 17, and driven by a motor 15, blows air into a humidifying unit 22 in which the.air is sprayed by an adjustable nozzle supplied with water under pressure from a pipe 41, the humidified air passing by ducts 24, 26, and a discharge elbow 29 provided with an inclined screen 50, into a room or enclosure. The humidifying means is suspended by brackets 13 below the floor 10 of the room, and the rectangular outlet 49 is in a wall 11. Air drawn in by the fan is controlled by an adjustable baffle plate 20 before passing through a foraminous screen 19. The screen 50, Fig. 5, is inclined inwardly and downwardly at its lower end and is secured to a portion 51 of a frame 46, and moisture condensing on the screen drips down, and is discharged into the elbow 29, and eventually into the chamber 22 from which it drains into pipe 44.
