Abstract

455,210. Vacuum cleaners. HIGGIN, F. B. HOLMES-, Netherwood, Princes Avenue, Petts Wood, Kent. Feb. 13, 1935, No. 4637. [Class 8 (i)] A conduit 1 is arranged on the inner edge of a suction nozzle 12 of a vacuum cleaner and apertures 2 direct a stream of air in a downward direction. The pipe 36 connects the conduit 1 to the outlet of the suction fan 8 and has a rotary valve 3 driven by the gearing 4, 5 which ensures an intermittent supply. The pipe 36 may pass through a container charged with deodorant &c. The air blast may be derived from an auxiliary compressor. Specification 453,601, is referred to.
