Abstract
546,240. Treating dusty air. JONES, T. D., and TERRELL, W. A. Jan. 1, 1941, No. 38. [Class 8 (ii)] [Also in Group XII] Dusty air, such as rises from a truck 20 to which coal is being delivered from a conveyer through a shoot 22, is conveyed by a fan 12 through a conduit having an enlarged mouth 16 to a baffle chamber 13 larger than the conduit and then to a spray chamber 15. A baffle 17 in the conduit mouth equalizes air flow. A hopper 23 receives spillage from the conveyer and delivers it to a truck, this hopper may be connected with the suction conduit. The conduit may extend below the conveyer, or the conduit and conveyer may extend oppositely from the truck.
