Abstract

696,228. Drying apparatus. JERVIS, A. E. Oct. 8, 1951 [Oct. 9, 1950], No. 24641/50. Class 34 (ii) [Also in Group I] A grain drying device for use with a combineharvester has a chamber 1 containing trays 2, 2<SP>1</SP>, 2<SP>11</SP> &c. over which the grain passes in succession under gravity and drying air heated by the engine of the harvester or exhaust gases pass into the chamber through a pipe 25 and branch connections 26, 27 with nozzles 41,43. The trays are pivotally connected as at 28 to the walls 6, 7 of the chamber 1 and are oscillated by a linkage 30 connected to a crank arm 31 on eccentric 32. Grain is fed by an elevator 3 and dried grain is discharged through an aperture 4 having a screw conveyer or a bagging attachment.
