Abstract

795,017. Drying grain. BLANCH, A. B. July 25, 1956 [Dec. 5, 1955], No. 34722/55. Addition to 613,584. Class 34(2) In apparatus for drying grain of the kind described in the parent Specification, in which hot air is blown by fans 12, 12a on to the material as it is conveyed down a shoot 11 into a reservoir 15, grain is discharged from the reservoir down a shoot 30 by a paddle 16, the shaft 17 of which is rotated by ratchet wheel 18 driven by a spring-loaded pawl 20 carried by an arm 19 connected by a rod 23 to a crank-pin 14. The arm 19 is biased to the left by a spring 21 and co-acts with an adjustable stop pin 22 which can be selectively inserted through holes in guides 22a. In a modification, a slotted conveyer belt is used instead of the paddle.
