Abstract

661,254. Crop sprayers; spray-producers. MALLOCH, G. Oct. 8, 1949. 25884/49. Class 69 (iii). A wind tunnel 10, provided with a high speed air screw 15, is pivotally mounted through pintles 13 on two supports 9 secured to a table 2. The table swivels about a stem 4, and a nozzle 27, having an axially adjustable spreader head 30, ejects liquid into the air stream. The screw 15 is driven by a motor 3 through a belt driven pulley 17, shaft 18 and gears 19. A pump 23 is also driven by the motor, and liquid is thereby fed from a tank 21 through a pipe 24, control box 25, and pipe 26 to the nozzle. The control box has a bye-pass 34 and valves controlling the liquid supply. A vehicle may support the apparatus, and the spray direction is controlled by a handle 40.
