667,651. Seats. HARRIS, A. K. April 18, 1950. No. 9424/50. Class 52 (ii). An adjustable and reclining chair comprises at each side a pair of pivoted crossed legs 7, 9 a back member 1 pivoted to the leg 7, a leg rest 3 with foot rest 4 pivoted to the leg 9, the leg rest 3 having an upward prolongation which is linked to the back member 1 by an arm rest 5, a strut 6 pivoted to the leg 9 and engaging a cross member 8 connecting the legs 7 whereby the chair is held in the open position. Adjustment of the chair is obtained by the attitude of the occupant whereby a rearward movement of inclination of the back 1 causes, by means of the arm rests 5, elevation of the leg and foot rests, limiting stops being provided by extensions of a cross member 11 forming abutments for the prolongation of the leg rest. Folding of the chair is obtained by lifting it by the roller 10 and bringing the remote ends of the front legs, back legs and back together.
