Rocking seats; adjustments ; seating- surfaces, attaching ; canopies.-In a rocking chair of the kind having a stationary frame 1 with arms 2, and a jointed swinging frame 9, 10 carrying the fabric seating 17, a cross-bar 18 is provided between the pivots 3<a> and 15 so that the fabric 17 frictionally engages the cross-bar and produces a braking effect when the seat is rocked. The fabric seating when single, may be nailed, screwed or otherwise attached to the bars 12, 16, or when double may have its ends connected together by an adjustable tape. Additional braking means 19 may be provided. A canopy 24 may be provided and its supporting arm 31 may be adjustably secured either at points 32 in the arms 2, or at points 33 in the bars 9.
