Abstract

664,002. Window mounting means. QUICK, W., and QUICKTHO (1928), Ltd. July 17, 1950 [Sept. 2, 1949], No. 22812/49. Class 20(iii) A window mounting, especially for the windows of vehicles, of the kind wherein the edges of each glass pane are engaged in a groove in an india rubber mounting strip which is, in turn, secured around the window opening, employs a grooved filler element adapted to be inserted between the. adjoining corners of two adjacent panes to engage and merge the mounting strips of the panes, so that the strip extending between the parallel edges of the panes is the same width as that extending around the remaining edges. In the form shown, the window has two panes a and b, the upper pane a being held in a framing f<SP>1</SP> which also supports a sliding pane a<SP>1</SP>. Rubber mounting strips c hold the projecting outer edges f of the frame f<SP>1</SP> and the edges of the lower pane b, in an inner groove therein, an outer groove being provided to receive the edge of the panel d in which the window opening is formed. At the adjoining corners of panes a and b, a groove member h is inserted to merge the mounting strips c into a strip c<SP>1</SP> passing between the panes.
