Abstract

1,173,994. Glazing window frames. ELTREVA A.G. 27 April, 1967 [27 April, 1966], No. 19519/67. Heading E1R. In a "dry" glazing assembly a tension member 5 for resiliently mounting a pane or double glazed unit 4 between a sealing member 3 and a stopstrip 7 allows panes or units of different thicknesses to be mounted within the assembly. The tension member may take on various forms of members transverse resilient e.g. of n-shape as shown in Fig. 1, for use on a metallic frame 1, 2, and has a lip 6 to cover the upper surface of the stop strip 7. For use with a frame having a wooden stop strip as shown in Fig. 4 or with a metal stop strip (Fig. 2 not shown) the tension member is V-shaped in cross-section, one arm 10 of the V bearing against the pane or unit 4 whilst the other arm, with or without a flange engages in teeth on the frame. In Fig. 6, not shown, the tension member is in the form of an elongated base (17) of rectangular cross-section, the bottom of which is transversely resilient and the top of which is slit longitudinally with the parts overlapping.
