Abstract

750,252. Glazing strips. WINDSHIELDS OF WORCESTER, Ltd. May.28, 1954 [Oct. 14, 1953], No. 28256/53. Class 20(3). A panel mounting comprises a master strip 2 of rubber or other resilient material having a single longitudinal glazing channel 7 for receiving an edge of a window panel 8 and having a restricted longitudinal groove 9 extending alongside the channel 7, in combination with a filler strip 10 adapted to be sprung into the groove 9 so that it is interlocked therewith, the strip 10 extending beyond the restricted portion of the groove 9 to engage a flexible side wall 11 of the channel 7 so as to press the wall 11 against a face of the window 8 and secure it in place, the strip 10 when in position within the groove 9 extending beneath the channel 7 when it is upwardly presented as shewn. The groove 9 and strip 10 may have co-operating portions of dovetail cross section and the wall 11 may have a thickened portion 11a at its outer edge. A ledge 12 is formed in strip 2 upon which the glass 8 rests. The strip 2 is mounted within the channel of a metal frame 1, the latter having ribs 3, 4 to engage and secure the strip.
